** MAN INJURED IN LAWRENCE-KS HOUSE FIRE **

*** Douglas County-KS EMS is reporting a "54-year-old male" suffered "2nd-degree burns on his hands" during a house fire in Lawrence early Saturday morning.

That man and at least 2 other persons were taken to the Lawrence hospital after that 2:47am fire in the single-story home in the 2600 block of Pickwick Place.

No one was seriously hurt and the cause of the fire was under investigation..

* FOUR INJURED IN LEE'S SUMMIT-MO WRECK *


***Police reported 4 were injured- 1 seriously- after a 2-car wreck on Chipman Road and Independence Avenue around 1:30am.

The seriously-injured patient was "a 22-year-old female- in a car that was broadsided by another vehicle going about 35-40 m.p.h.." Most of the other patients were also in their 20's- including the driver of the vehicle that struck the 2nd one.

Charges were pending.

* BLUE SPRINGS-MO RESIDENCE FIRE *

... Central Jackson County Fire Protection District firefighters from 3 stations rolled out on a reported residence fire in the 1500 block of Northwest Wildwood Drive at 6:20am Saturday morning.

No one was injured in the fire that reportedly was in the residence's garage and under control within 20 minutes after the alarm sounded.

Mostly clear skies cand light to calm winds was the overnight weather in the Kansas City MetroRegion. Temperatures ranged from the middle-20's in calm valley locations to the upper-30's in urbanized spots.

A slow warming trend today and Sunday should provide for a pleasant pre-Thanksgiving Day weekend.
