After the scene had been cleared and the roads were fully opened, the fire hose from the NW Consolidated Fire District, somehow found it's way into the middle of K10 westbound. It appeared to either have been left there or dragged onto the road somehow.
At least 8 cars, possibly more, ran over the hose at high speed and were incapacitated. The cars were hitting the couplings on the end of the hose causing significant damage. Highway patrol showed up quickly, within a minute or two, and took care of the situation.
