The killings ranged from the KC-MO Northland to the Southland overnight...
The first killing by firearms came around 11 p.m. Tuesday night at an apartment complex near Northeast 43rd Street and North Bennington- about a mile west of Worlds and Oceans of Fun.
It's reported that an undescribed suspect in a dark-colored SUV shot into an apartment building there after a fight at the same location earlier Tuesday evening.
Police report a black male in his late teens inside the apartment was struck by bullets- and taken to a Northland hospital where he died of his wounds.
The victim was 19-year-old Samir Clark-police later said- and he apparently wasn't involved the the earlier disturbance.
No suspect(s) in custody.
Barely 2 hours later (around 1 am Wednesday morning)- South Zone Patrol officers of the KC-MO Police department received the report of a prowler in the area in the 7900 block of East 100th Street near I-470 and Blue Ridge.
After a brief area search- police found a black male in his 20's dead of a gunshot wound in the backyard of a house in that block.
Once again- police had no suspect information on this murder- and later identified the victim as Wendell Everage in his 20's.
In a 24-hour period from 1 a.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday- gunfire in KC-MO killed 3 people and injured at least 4 others- as reported here at CSW at Link 1- Link 2 and Link 3.
