CSW Weather: Chance of Severe Storms in the Kansas City MetroRegion Through Tuesday

The risk factor is "slight" according to forecasters at the NWS' Storm Prediction Center in Norman Oklahoma.

Today's risk area runs generally along and north of U.S. 36 highway in Missouri- including Missouri cities such as St. Joseph- Chillicothe and Kirksville.

Today's forecast is valid until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday- the area forecasted for severe storms drops south to generally along and north of Interstate 70- and Metro Kansas City is bisected in that forecast.

Thunderstorms will certainly be a break from this stifling heat- as a NWS "Excessive Heat Warning" continues through Tuesday.
