A LifeFlight medical helicopter is en route to a 1-vehicle rollover injury crash in eastern Independence on Truman Road.
The crash- reported about 5:30 a.m.- is said to be "1/2 to 3/4 of a mile east of (Missouri) 7 highway" according to an Independence Fire department pumper on the scene.
A "50-year-old female driver" said to be experiencing paralysis in her arms and legs was flown to Truman Med Center-Hospital Hill in otherwise non life-threatening condition.
IPD was investigating the circumstances of the crash.

I normally leave my ranch at 5:30 am and head west on Truman Road. As I got closer to Highway 7 I saw the police and fire dept. emergency equipment. I turned off on a side road because it looked like something super serious. When I got close to the Independence Power plant two more emergency vehicles were headed toward the scene. I have been wondering what happened and ran across your article here. I hope she is doing ok. If I would of left just a little bit earlier I probably would of been the first one on the scene. Once again, I hope she is doing good.
Hours later- a KC STAR story on this stated the woman's injuries were "Critical-" I assume meaning life-threatening.
The med report from the chopper to TMC/West didn't indicate that.
I too hope she's okay- and thanx for reading and your comment.
