WILDFIRES DISPLACE MORE THAN ONE-HALF MILLION SOUTHERN CALIFORNIANS

More than 500000 Southern Californians have been evacuated due to a reported 16 different natural cover fires covering a combined hundreds of thousands of acres in the Los Angeles and San Diego metropolitan areas.
More than 1300 structures- homes and businesses- have been destroyed. Thus far- 2 have been killed and dozens injured in the Southland wildfires.

Very few of the fires are more than 25% contained- many of the fires have less than 10% containment.

The estimated half-million people evacuated have been in the San Diego area. At least 10000 people have camped out at the city's NFL football stadium.
Weather conditions are forecast to improve over the next few days which may provide a chance for thousands of firefighters to control the blazes.

Bloggers SHOULD Be Accountable For What They Post

Just as much as POLITICIANS should be accountable for what they do.

Which means WE should be able to double-speak- lie and spin wrong to right too.

Politicians already seem to have their own class system and justice system. I think many of we bloggers should really like that part- plus unlimited medical coverage and all the other perks.

If you're going to BITCH about whether bloggers should be held accountable for what THEY say and do- take a LONG HARD LOOK at our "ruling class" first.

Pre-swearing-in and regular drug-testing for politicians would make a GREAT start.

Does The KANSAS CITY STAR wish to comment on POLITICIAN DRUG TESTING or just shove out their daily quota of words?

Bloggers are regular citizens with a new and powerful soapbox. If there is character assassination of politicians- they are and have ALWAYS been fair game.

Watch their campaigns- THEY character assassinate each other with regularity!

THEY choose to be elected- WE don't make/change the rules nor make the idiotic decisions regarding hard-earned tax money.

SOME of us aren't sheep- we WILL bite you back- and hard!

Hundreds Of Thousands Evacuated As Southern California Burns

So far- more than 250000- a quarter of a million- residents of San Diego County have been evacuated due to a number of out of control wildfires.

Among the emergency shelters hastily opened- Qualcom Stadium- where the NFL football Chargers play- is being used for evacuees.

At least 1 person died- with a dozen injured in those fires with hundreds of structures destroyed.

Thousands have also been evacuated in the Los Angeles Metro due to at least a half-dozen wildfires. There have been at least several injuries so far.

One fire (see images) broke out near Lake Arrowhead- east of L.A.- before noon- and at last estimate has already destroyed dozens of expensive homes.
Another massive fire is near Santa Clarita- north of L.A. (see images). That fire has threatens hundreds of homes.
There are still concerns around Malibu- where that fire that broke out Sunday is still not contained.
In fact- none of the major fires in Southern California are anywhere near containment. High winds and low humidities continue to plague the Southland through tomorrow....

Internet Streaming Of L.A. TV Stations Covering Wildfires

I've been watching off & on since yesterday- live coverage of the Malibu and other L.A. 'Southland' natural cover fires.

KABC took their live stream down- but here's a working stream from KNBC in Burbank.

There is one reported fatality and several injured in a brush fire near San Diego.

Heavy Rains Indicated In Western K.C. MetroRegion

I do not see any NWS statements- advisories or warnings- but weather radars from K.C. and Topeka are indicating rainfalls so far today of up to 5.5-inches over parts of Osage County Kansas.

General rainfalls of more than 3-inches are indicated by the red color on the image (click to enlarge). The maroons indicate the 5-inch-plus totals.

Again- no "official" warnings or advisories on this heavy rainfall yet.

Oh brother... it's the latest Republicrat debate.

Maybe next session- these candidates can debate who the biggest MORON or perhaps LIAR is.

Climate Change Will Make Weather Forecasting Difficult

I'm wondering why I have not heard this addressed in the scientific community...

Weather forecasting models work on more or less a historic basis- past weather scenarios that current conditions in the atmosphere are thought to mimic.

With the general warming of the Earth's atmosphere- I'm of the strong opinion that this will change established weather patterns- therefore throwing out many of these weather models' effectiveness.

This is too simple: a NEW climate model simply makes the present established weather model- based on past- observed historical weather patterns- obsolete.

A good example might be the present weather models. They have been bouncing all over the place the past 5 days on whether this present frontal system coming through "cuts-off" or not.

One day- the models cut this system off with an upper-level low meandering around the Central States for several days- the next day it doesn't cut it off.

This is just one example of what may well make weather forecasting in the coming years more difficult.

NASA Withholds Public-Financed Survey Results

How about if Americans just withhold their "public finance" from the Government?

NASA is not divulging a survey they made of airline pilots- and of all the shenanigans that go on in the cockpit.

This is a double-whammy to the face.

We- the American public FINANCE this thing- then the govermental bastards don't release the results- which- I may add would probably scare people to train travel.

*** BREAKING NEWS: DEAD MALE DISCOVERED IN SOUTH-CENTRAL KC-MO ***

>>> The call at 6:06am was said to be of an unknown nature- other than "a man down" at 57Th Street and Indiana.

Police arrived minutes later and found the man down- and deceased.

Crime scene and homicide investigators have been called to the scene.

... According to MAST-EMS- a "26-year-old male" was taken to an area trauma center around 1am in critical condition after he "was hit several times in the head by a baseball bat."

That incident occurred on Kansas City-Mo's near-Northeast Side and no suspect information was available.

That howling you heard overnight wasn't wolves- but the wind.

Wind gusts near 50 m.p.h.- recorded at 48 mph at K.C.I. at 4am- continue to blow through the Metro at dawn. The NWS issued a wind advisory for much of the Missouri and adjacent Kansas counties in the MetroRegion.

Overnight skies were mostly clear with MetroRegion temperatures holding around normal highs of 65-70-degrees..

A cold front today- wind shifts- and colder. Rain is likely to begin Monday morning and will hang in at least part of the day. A frost is possible some areas Tuesday morning- but I'm still holding to the general frost around Halloween.

KANSAS CITY MetroRegion WEATHER: NWS "Wind Advisory" In Effect

Winds gusts around and in excess of 40 m.p.h. throughout the area this morning has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a "wind advisory" until 1pm this Sunday afternoon for the following counties:

ATCHISON- MIAMI- LINN- LEAVENWORTH- WYANDOTTE and JOHNSON in Kansas ... PLATTE- CLAY- RAY- JACKSON- LAFAYETTE- CASS- JOHNSON- BATES and HENRY counties in Missouri.

The NWS statement reads:

"SOUTH WINDS CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN THIS MORNING AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT DRAPED ACROSS EAST CENTRAL NEBRASKA THROUGH NORTHWEST KANSAS. EARLY MORNING SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS ARE ALREADY RANGING BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH...ACROSS EAST CENTRAL KANSAS AND WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI.
AS THE FRONT MOVES SOUTHEAST THE SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS WILL STRENGTHEN TO RANGE AROUND 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TOPPING 40 MPH. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL BEGIN TO EASE DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS AS THE COLD FRONT STARTS MOVING THROUGH EASTERN KANSAS AND MISSOURI.

AREAS AFFECTED BY THESE STRONG WINDS WILL BE SOUTH OF A LINE FROM ATCHISON KANSAS- THROUGH CONCORDIA MISSOURI- WARRENSBURG AND CLINTON.

THIS INCLUDES THE KANSAS CITY METRO AREA.

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE 30 TO 40 MPH...OR GUSTS RANGING FROM 45 TO 57 MPH ARE EXPECTED.
WINDS OF THIS STRENGTH MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRA PRECAUTIONS. MOTORISTS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE. "

There have been several reports of power lines and tree limbs downed. Be on the lookout for those things until at least 1pm today.
