Refer to the map image below- you see the greatest risk ("enhanced") of severe thunderstorms is south and southwest of Metro KC- Oklahoma City and SW from there.
The standard "slight" risk area extends from near Warsaw- west through Nevada MO- into Kansas- Fort Scott- Iola- Emporia and southward.

The window of possible strong- severe storms in Metro KC is small- generally between 4 pm to 7 pm. After that- a cold front sweeps through and virtually eliminates any risk of severe weather.
