Sunday Morning Car Chases - July 1- 2012

Three police car chases were monitored early Sunday morning- two in Kansas City KS and one in Kansas City MO...

The KC-MO chase occurred about 1:30 p.m. when police tried to stop a car containing two armed black males leaving a nightclub in the area of 85th Street and Troost.

At 1:34 a.m.- the car police were chasing crashes into a building (the old King Louie bowling alley) at "79th Street and Troost.

The passenger jumps out and runs- he's captured by police within 10 minutes "at 80th Street and Paseo- but the driver is seriously hurt and can't escape.

Police are concerned the "car's about to catch fire" at 1:35 a.m.- and pull the injured driver from the car.

Another fire department dispatching gaffe (good thing the car WASN'T on fire) doesn't see the fire department arrive until 1:44 a.m.- and the EMS crew transports the "33-year-old" male driver with serious injuries to a Metro hospital.

Just after 3:45 a.m.- a Kansas Highway Patrol Turnpike trooper was chasing a car due to "an unpaid toll" on the Turnpike- eastbound on I-70 from Bonner Springs.

Speeds during this chase were reported around "100" mph..

The pursuit went south on I-435- one officer managed to road-spike the suspect's tires as he raced south on I-435 near the Kansas River bridge.

The last word of this chase was at 3:53 a.m. when the suspect "passed Johnson Drive" in Shawnee- and I don't know if the suspect was ever caught.

Around 4:15 a.m.- a female KC-KS police officer chased a vehicle containing 3 males on Parallel Parkway in the area of I-435 north of the Kansas Speedway.

The suspects pulled into the Walmart parking lot at 109th Street and Parallel Parkway- and bolted from the vehicle with one male actually running into the store.

All three suspects were captured within 15 minutes- and police found a large cache of fireworks inside the suspect's vehicle.

At 4:25 a.m.- officer at Walmart reported "a rollover crash in front of Walmart-"  but unknown if this was related to the chase.
