Central States Weather: Rounds of Storms This Weekend Could Bring Severe Weather- Flooding

As we turn to the last half of May- a slow-moving storm system entering the western United States will bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms (tstms) to the Central States beginning Wednesday.

The larger storm system will send out smaller disturbances ahead which will be the trigger for severe tstms over parts of our region Thursday- including Metro K.C. Friday- into early Saturday.

Severe weather will include the possibility of tornadoes.

As the larger storm lingers- rounds of precip through at least mid-next week  could lead to increasing chances of flash and general flooding.

Models are indicating that the front associated with this storm system will stall near or just south of the Kansas City MetroRegion late-weekend with rounds of showers and storms- some strong to severe- through next Wednesday.
