Central States News: Federal Radio Mandate Has Iowa Emergency Agencies Sweating


Local and state governments nationwide are scrambling to come up with money to buy new radio systems- a Federal mandate effective in 2013.


In the worst "recession (depression) since the Great Depression of the 1930's- the Federal radio mandate requires funds many agencies simply do not have without additional tax & fee rises.


In Iowa- the unfunded Federal mandate is creating some real budgetary issues- as reported by the DES MOINES (IA) REGISTER.
