CSW BREAKING: Critical-Injury House Fire in Kansas City KS

Six companies of the KC-KS Fire department are battling a fire in a house in the 400 block of North Thompson in the eastern part of that city.

The fire was reported about 4:35 p.m. Wednesday afternoon- and fire crews reported "an injured female in the backyard" of the burning house at 4:43 p.m..

That unknown-age female has been transported to a hospital with "20-25% coverage of 2nd and 3rd-degree burns to her arms and legs" along with likely respiratory issues- according to a KC-KS FD paramedic.

It was thought for a time there were also children in the burning house- but that was reported to be unfounded at 5:04 p.m.

There are reported to be at least 2 house pets that have died in the fire.

No other injuries have been reported and the fire's not declared under control yet (1708 CDT).
