At 11:49 am Monday morning- four KC-MO and 2 Lee's Summit Fire companies responded to a barn fire in the 8500 block of Lee's Summit Road.Lee's Summit Pumper 4 spotted "heavy smoke" as they left their station on Woods Chapel Road- and upon arrival several minutes later reported heavy fire showing from a "large barn."
Two more fire companies have been sent to the scene and there is no word if there were any animals in the barn.
The firefight is being made difficult by gusty northwest winds and sub-freezing temperatures.

I think a pumper had to return to the fire because it rekindled. They put it out. Again. This was maybe 2 or 3 pm I think.
