THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A
* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
ANDERSON COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS...
* UNTIL 800 AM CDT
* AT 1206 AM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED ALL ROADS ENTERING ANDERSON COUNTY HAVE BEEN CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER OVER THE ROADWAYS.
ANDERSON COUNTY ADVISES INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE COUNTY TO REMAIN OFF THE ROADS DUE TO WIDESPREAD IMPASSABLE WATER COVERED ROADS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. MEASURED STORM TOTAL PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED AS HIGH AS 20 INCHES WITHIN THE LAST 65 HOURS.
ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO AGGRAVATE THE FLOODING SITUATION.

COLONY... GARNETT... GREELEY... HARRIS... KINCAID... WESTPHALIA... LONE ELM...
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER ON COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

ALL PEOPLE travelling south from Kansas City will encounter flooding. U.S. 69 is closed at Fort Scott-KS and it's possible U.S. 71 could be closed in Bates and/or Vernon Counties-MO as the rain continues in those areas.
THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY FLOODING SITUATION IN WESTERN AND SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI AND EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS!
