Fatality Crash Late Friday Night in Greenwood-MO

I
heard the tail-end of the patient transports when I came "on-duty" at midnight- there had been a 2-car fatality crash at Missouri (M-) 150 and Smart Road in Greenwood.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Dept. report- a Chevrolet Trailblazer with 3 passengers that was southbound on Smart ran a stop sign and crashed into a Chevrolet Cavalier that was eastbound on M-150.

A front seat passenger in the Trailblazer- 17-year-old Tyler M. Fratzke- was killed. Another passenger in the Trailblazer suffered serious injuries.

All the other injuries were not life-threatening. The JXCo-SO said the drivers of the 2 vehilces were not injured.

It Indeed- IS Our Business Coach Self

L
ast I checked- the University of Kansas WAS a "public" university.

So why does K.U basketball coach Bill Self say that any punishment doled out to the players involved in this week's fracases with the footballers is "None of (our) business?"

Coach Self- as a BORN Jayhawk- I respectfully and totally disagree.

These clowns have embarrassed the university and made fools of the fans of it's sports programs.

Whatever punishment the involved players get SHOULD not only be our business- these "punishments" should be made public to any and all who inquire.

This sort of athlete crap needs to stop like last year- and it need be be made VERY public what the coaches and school officials intend to do about such behavior.

Or- perhaps- the FANS (moi) can decide- maybe those teams' GAMES will be none of OUR business and we'll stay home/not watch.

A "public" university and "none of (our) business- INDEED!!!

Blame of K-10 Double-Fatality Crash Shifted To Other Driver

T
he Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) has changed the circumstances of the August 12 head-on crash on K-10 west of DeSoto.

According to the Topeka CAPITOL-JOURNAL- the KHP now says it was 20-year-old Eric Sill who was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of K-10 east of Evening Star Road early that fateful Saturday.

Originally- the KHP had assigned the fault of the crash to the other driver- 26-year-old Kara Morgan. The KHP correction exonerates Ms. Morgan.

The Topeka C-J article does not mention how or why the KHP messed-up the original accident report.

Strange Juxtaposition of Commercials

During the too-many commercial breaks on a cable TV station are ads by pharmaceutical companies for their products and what the products will do FOR you sandwiched between commercials from law firms offering to SUE those very phamaceutical companies for what those products do TO you.

Fighting K.U. Athletes NEED Discipline

W
hat is wrong with Coach Mangino?

The football players involved in the fights with the basketball team players need to be TOLD- with NO exception- that ANY future mis-behavior results in expulsion from the University of Kansas.

Period. No "ifs" "ands" or "buts."

Same with the basketball team players involved- attention Coach Self.

In fact- ANY players with K.U. sports programs need to be warned.

That sort of behavior is TOTALLY unacceptable and folks need to damn-well start holding anti-social behavior participants responsible for their actions.

Period. No "ifs" "ands" or "buts."

Failure to mete-out this "punishment" makes the K.U. Athletics Department a BAD joke!

T
his is according to the Lawrence JOURNAL-WORLD- there was a fight today near Wescoe (Beach) Hall on the campus that again involved member of both the K.U. football and basketball teams.

This latest inter-squad skirmish came AFTER the other disturbances reported earlier here at CSW.

I wish the team members took their frustrations and/or inmaturity out on OPPOSITE TEAMS!
